The Boltachan gallery displayed a lively and joyful set of entries to the 2009 Children’s Competition from 31st July to 8th August. Budding artists in three age groups, 5-7, 8-10 and 11-14 competed for prizes in themes of "My House", "Big Frieze" and "Radio Head". The judges also commended some imaginative pieces which unfortunately did not conform to the rules of entry, but decorated the walls of the gallery nonetheless. At the same time entries bidding for the annual Fortingall Arts student bursary award were judged and put on display. Awarding the prizes to both enterprises was the opportunity for a very sociable reception on Friday 31st July.
Looking Ahead
The next Fortingall Art summer exhibition will be held in 2010. The exhibition will take place over some ten days around the beginning of August, starting with a now traditional opening reception to which all members, patrons, and supporters will be invited. The 2010 exhibition will follow the same pattern as the highly successful 2008 exhibition which welcomed 891 visitors and 27 artists displaying their work.
Our exhibitions take place in the lovely Molteno Hall at the western edge of the picturesque village of Fortingall.
You will see original paintings, photography, prints, jewellery, sculpture, and ceramics. Also on view once again will be the winning entries for the children’s competitions and the young student’s bursary winner for 2010, sponsored by Fortingall Art. |
