LYNN SHILP

A lifetime of learning traditional art and craft through various mediums, plus a long association with glass leading, copper foiling and now fusing were all nurtured by Lynn’s years of living in Europe, Canada and Australia.

Homecoming to Highland Perthshire and settling in the pretty hamlet of Keltneyburn, near Fortingall, culminated with the launch in 2014 of Breagha Glass producing creative, colourful and contemporary hand made and kiln fused designer glass art.

Lynn is fundamentally self taught with guidance and technical knowledge through college, studio courses & workshops. She has progressively developed bespoke pieces with distinctive characteristics embracing texture and shape with vivid colour, reflecting the changing seasons and inspired by Scotland’s beautiful highlands and islands, in landscape, seascape & flower, the hallmark of themes, collections and commissions.

North Coast 500, the 500 mile scenic coastal route round the north west highlands of Scotland launched by the Scottish Tourist Board in 2014, with its wild, majestic and rugged landscape and seascape has provided much inspiration for Lynn’s exhibits this year.

Her work is shown regularly in country fairs and markets, county exhibitions and galleries, highland gatherings and POS (Perthshire Open Studios).
