I was born and brought up near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands; I became a gamekeeper/deer stalker at the age of 25 on Novar Estate, Ross-shire before relocating to Glen Etive Estate on the rugged West coast. I am now based near the village of Killin in Perthshire.
I have blended my life in the outdoors with my passion for painting utilising oil paints on linen canvas. I try to create atmospheric landscape paintings focusing on areas in Scotland which hold significance to me. Through my art I seek to create a true representation of the Scottish wildlife in its natural habitat.
Although self taught I have found inspiration in the works of incredible wildlife artists Ian MacGillivray and Rodger McPhail.
