Before having a family, Kit was a nurse living in the Borders for 30 years. Her family home was in Menmuir, near Brechin.
She has always tried almost every sort of craft and handiwork but it wasn’t until 2001 when she did a City & Guilds in Machine Embroidery, followed by Patchwork & Quilting that she felt she had found her niche in textiles.
Colour is her passion and she loves the different ways of using colour. She also enjoys painting watercolours and has found that a complementary skill.
She has written articles for Stitch magazine and Workshop on the Web, and has exhibited and worked on commissions.
After moving to Aberfeldy 10 years ago, she was involved with helping Shirley Shearer set up the craft shop at Karelia House, and she now teaches a wide variety of workshops, there and elsewhere.
